Is your smart TV watching you? Vizio, Inc., got a whopping $2.2 million fine by the FTC after they collected data on millions of their consumers. Of course, not a single one of the smart TV owners knew their personal information was collected. Some of the stolen data included something as simple and as typical as channel history but that’s not the worse part. Vizio managed to collect demographic information such as age, sex, income, marital status, and more from their smart TV shoppers.
