How A Couple Of Teen Girls Stole Four Cars Using Online Dating

A couple of teen girls from High Point, NC, pretended to be older on the online dating site Plenty of Fish to steal cars from their online dates.

The minors (names withheld for privacy reasons), 15 and 16, were reportedly arrested Friday, June 2, at a traffic stop in which the N.C. Department of Transportation License and Theft Bureau conducted in High Point.

They were riding in a stolen 2010 Ford Fusion when their grand theft auto scheme came to an end.

But this isn’t their first joy ride! According to TheTimesNews (TTN), detectives have confirmed that they have been involved in at least 4 other auto theft cases.

The male victims then traveled to the Daniel Brooks neighborhood in High Point, picked up the teens and took them back to their residences. When the victims became distracted at the home, the girls would steal the car keys and take off, reports TTN.

Both girls were charged with two counts of felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and two counts of felony conspiracy.
